CHRIS AND HOSANNA’S WEDDING AT CAIRNS BOTANICAL GARDENS AND WHITFIELD HOUSE

April 26th, 2012

Hosanna and Chris were married at the lush green Cairns Botanical Gardens by Pastor John Wedrat. The gardens looked stunning and provided a great backdrop for formal photos. Chris and Hosanna enjoyed a leisurely drive to our photo locations in a maroon vintage Terraplane driven by owner Bruce Hamilton of Cairns Vintage Cars. Afterwards Chris and Hosanna made their way to their stylish reception at Whitfield House. Whitfield House is a Federation Style building which has been completely rennovated to incorporate all the modern conveniences whilst retaining the beauty of Federation style.

Thanks Hosanna and Chris for choosing me to photograph and capture your memories of your special day. I wish you both a long and happy marriage. Below are some of Chris and Hosanna’s lovely images from their wedding.

PALM COVE WEDDING, SEA TEMPLE ALEX AND TIFFANY

Cairns Wedding Amanda and Nick

Amanda and Nick were married at Holy Cross Church, Trinity Park. Amanda looked beautiful and elegant in an ivory Badgely Mischka dress which suited her perfectly. She chose different styled dresses for her daughter and sister. Amanda held a bouquet of cream “David Austin” roses. Nick and his brothers were resplendent in classic black suits. Amanda and the girls makeup was by Blush hair and makeup. After photos at Palm Cove we finished up as it was getting dark with some pictures at Paradise Palms where Amanda and Nick’s reception was held. Thanks Amanda and Nick for your composure and calmness on a day which is usually anything but calm and for choosing me to photograph your day. I wish you the very best for your future together. CAIRNS AUSTRALIAN DREAM WEDDING CYGNUS AND MAGGIE

Michelle Zanetti from Australian Dream Weddings organised Cygnus and Maggie’s ceremony in the quaint St Christopher’s Chapel just outside Cairns. The timber chapel is set amongst beautiful gardens and is constructed of timber with beautiful stained glass windows. Cygnus and Maggie and 10 relatives and guests attended the chapel before local Celebrant Delmae Meehan. The vivacious Maggie was full of laughter and fun with Cygnus being the perfect foil for her laughter and her guests were no slouch in the fun department either.

PORT DOUGLAS AUSTRALIAN DREAM WEDDING STACEY AND BARRY

Stacey and Barry’s wedding ceremony was held at Little Cove, Port Douglas. Port Douglas turned it on for them and they enjoyed beautiful sunny weather. Family and friends came from all over to help them celebrate by combining the wedding with a no doubt well earned holiday – what a good idea!!!. Michelle from Australian Dream Weddings did a wonderful job co-ordinating their day for them from hair and makeup, to the flowrs, limo, champagne and cake etc. After enjoying champagne and completing formal photos Stacey and Barry had a wander down to Rex Smeal Cove looking out to the ocean. Then we headed off in their limo to where they were staying at Omkara for some photos in this beautiful accommodation.

AWARDS – THE 2011 INTERNATIONAL LOUPE AWARDS

Well, it’s been a long time between posts, I had intended to have the new website and blog up and running well before now so delayed doing more posts but work has kept me from finishing it.

In the meantime however I’m really pleased to announce that I was awarded 3 bronze awards for excellence in the open wedding category of the 2011 International Loupe Awards with the following images. Special thanks to Hayley and Joseph, Jodi and Shane and Amanda and Gareth for bestowing the great honour of allowing me to photograph their special day.

BEAUTIFUL WEDDINGS

Still working on the new website but lots of beautiful weddings to feature some of which I’ve shown a few images below – more to come later.

The beautiful Katie who married Daniel at Absolute Newell, Newell Beach. Stunning bouquet by Port Douglas Florist. Katie’s hair and makeup was done superbly by Blush Hair and Makeup.

Daniel surprised Katie with this quirky personalised cake designed by Passion for Cakes which included their much loved dog.

The vivacious Jo with her bridesmaids – Makeup by Jenna Alyce, hair by Jewel and the beautiful flowers by Blush Floral.

Amanda and Nic were married at Holy Cross Church, Trinity Beach with their reception at Paradise Palms. Amanda’s bouquet featured cream David Austin roses beautifully created by Blush Floral. Hair and makeup by Blush Hair and Makeup.

Mita and Ricky came all the way from the UK. They decided to have the trip of a lifetime AND get married at the same time. They spent some time travelling around Australia before choosing Trinity Beach to get married.

The irrepressible Amanda and Ricardo were married in Port Douglas. Hair and Makeup by Shae at Tropical Beauty. They chose a private residence “Birdsong” for their reception with catering by Port Douglas Catering.

NEW WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK COMING

Hi everyone I’m very excited to announce I’m putting together a new website which should be complete in the next month or so so stay tuned. It will look great – there will be new photos and I’ll be updating my current galleries. I’ll also be able to regularly add new pictures and feature samples of my favourite/recent weddings.

It takes a bit of time to put together but it will be worth it.

I’m also joining the rest of the world on Facebook (once I’m up to speed on it) and I’d love for you all to check it out – there will be lots of important information that I know you will enjoy along with previews of photos. I’ll let you know here when my Facebook is up and running.

MALI MALI WEDDING JOSH AND SHARRON

February 15th, 2011

Sharron and Josh and new daughter Olivia travelled all the way from Victoria for their wedding at the exclusive private residence “Mali Mali” (2008 Australian House of the Year). Family and close friends also travelled to join them for their relaxed and intimate wedding at the award winning propery which sits atop a hill outside Mossman with 360 degree panoramic views of the Daintree rainforest and ocean.

Sharron’s makeup and hair was beautifully done by Blush. Sharron and Josh’s plans were to have the ceremony in the garden but the weather decided otherwise and instead the ceremony was conducted on the verandah safe from the elements. This didn’t affect Sharron and Josh’s happiness at tying the knot.

Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely thanks to great food prepared by Ochre Restaurant and Catering and music by Steve Williams at Cairns Wedding Music. Wedding Co-ordinator Janine was everywhere on the day and despite being very pregnant pulled everything together beautifully.

PORT DOUGLAS WEDDING COURTNEY AND CARL

January 25th, 2011

Courtney and Carl and their families and friends travelled from Victoria to tropical Port Douglas for their wedding. Courtney’s 4 bridesmaids all looked gorgeous in black dresses of their choice. Courtney looked classically beautiful and elegant in a stunning Mariana Hardwick dress that featured beautiful beadwork and draping together with a stylish head adornment. No-one looking at Courtney would have thought she had had her daughter Amber just 8 months ago.

Courtney was accompanied by her Dad to the Crystal Chapel at the Sheraton Mirage where Carl was nervously waiting with his son Anthony and Best Man. Although the Chapel was airconditioned Carl was feeling the heat but local Celebrant Rosina Santarossa was suitably equipped to handle such a situation and whipped out a hankerchief to wipe his brow. Lots of laughter later and Courtney and Carl were declared husband and wife.

After a group photo and family photos there was just enough time to quickly make use of the Mirage’s beautiful surrounds and then a little time with just Courtney and Carl before they returned to Treetops for their much anticipated reception.

Thank you Courtney and Carl for being so relaxed and easy going and for making photographing your day such an enjoyable experience. I wish you and your lovely families the very best. Take care!
